Zodiac Flowers: What’s Your Sign’s Flower?

June 1, 2023by Milena Petrovic

Our zodiac signs help us uncover the inner details of who we are and how we see the world.

Learning your zodiac sign, however, is just the first step.

Astrology of the stars also connects to the world down on earth, and each sign has a corresponding zodiac flower.

Just as each month has a birthstone, constellation, and specific likes, it also has a distinct flower.

These flowers were chosen carefully, each representing something different about the individuals who fall under these signs.

Whether you’re looking for a beautiful symbol of your personality or just welcoming a spark of color into your home, let’s explore everything zodiac flowers.

Flowers and Astrology

In many traditions around the world, it’s believed that surrounding yourself with your zodiac flower is a way to invite positivity and balance.

Since ancient times, zodiac symbols and the natural world have been a mirror of what makes us human.

Just like the hidden language of flowers, specific buds are also associated with the zodiac calendar.

On one hand, there’s an aesthetic to each flower.

These are powerful, earthly symbols of what makes each individual unique.

Just like flowers, no two people are completely alike, but we can still find similarities in those who share our zodiac sign.

Beyond aesthetics, astrological beliefs say your unique zodiac flower has unique healing powers and the ability to add blessings to your life.

The Birth Flower for Each Zodiac Sign

Now, let’s identify the unique birth flower for each zodiac sign.

You might see some similarities between the flowers and their corresponding signs.

How do you relate to your own zodiac flower?

What connections do you feel with the natural world?

  • Aries (Honeysuckle): The first sign in the zodiac, both Aries and honeysuckle represent the start of something new. Youthful and confident, honeysuckle is associated with rebirth.
  • Taurus (Poppy): Like the bright poppy, those with the Taurus sign are compassionate and strong. Though technically weeds, there’s no denying the beauty of the poppy.
  • Gemini (Lavender): Gemini signs are exciting and social, just like the versatile and popular lavender flower.
  • Cancer (White Rose): One of the most emotional signs, it’s no surprise that cancer is connected with the stunning and dramatic white rose. Delicate, subtle, and universally elegant, these perfectly match the sensitivity of cancer signs.
  • Leo (Sunflower): Those born under Leo are the most likely to feel like sunshine on a cloudy day, bringing smiles wherever they go. It only makes sense that Leo is the sunflower of the zodiac.
  • Virgo (Buttercup): Just as Virgos don’t want to be the center of attention, the buttercup can often go under the radar. Still, once you look closer, you’ll notice they’re beautiful, perfectly symmetrical, and just as exciting as many of the other flowers.
  • Libra (Rose): Universally adored, both libra and roses are a symbol of peace. Libras are likely to mesh into any social setting with their calm confidence, just as roses are the right pick for any occasion.
  • Scorpio (Geranium): Scorpios have endless sides, just like the many petals on the geranium. Those under these signs are notoriously unpredictable, so it’s only fitting that these flowers come in so many colors.
  • Sagittarius (Carnation): Carnations are known as the most popular wedding flowers, and this is because their beauty lasts so long. Strong, confident, and adventurous, those under Sagittarius are as strong as these colorful flowers.
  • Capricorn (Pansy): Hardworking and dedicated, Capricorns aren’t afraid to show off their hard work. Pansies, similarly, aren’t afraid to shine even in the coldest of months.
  • Aquarius (Orchid): Eccentric and unique, the orchid is the perfect representation of the shy-on-the-outside Aquarius sign.
  • Pisces (Water Lily): Finally, the Pisces sign is known for its whimsy and go-with-the-flow attitude. Just like the water lily that lives in shallow ponds and lakes, this water sign is dreamy and beautiful.

Can You Be a Mix of Two Zodiac Signs?

Now that you’ve explored all the zodiac flowers, is it possible to be a mix of two zodiac signs?

Yes, and this is known as a “cusp” sign.

Anyone who was born close to the edge of one of the signs might feel like a “cusp” sign, though this is largely up to the individual.

Astrology is always evolving to match the needs of the world around us.

It’s perfectly acceptable to lean towards the zodiac symbols that have significance to you.

Another option is to consider a deeper zodiac reading.

Your sun sign is the most well-known, but you can also learn your moon and rising signs for a more accurate view of your placement in the stars.

You might discover a connection to another sign (or zodiac flower) you’ve never considered before.

Ultimately, your zodiac flower is a way to discover a new side of yourself.

Flowers are more than decoration for bouquets.

They’re a symbol of ourselves and relationships.
